We want to hear you rhyme about cupcakes like it’s a crime. (Please note: comments are moderated. Please, no offensive material about our beloved cupcakes.)

Here’s one of our favorites found on www.wgbh.org by Paul Papanek of Los Angeles, CA:

O cupcake, my cupcake, your bakings almost done.
Your top has reached prize-winning brown; the hue we sought is won.
Peering through the oven doors translucent window pane,
Though face perspire, I look with love and plan to cook again.

Beat the batter til translucent;
Do not cease, through hands perspire.
While this toil may seem a nuisance,
Cupcake dreams will thee inspire

By the doors of kitchen oven
Through translucent small glass window
Watched Nakoma, face perspiring
Baking cupcake in his wigwam.

Cupcake, cupcake, gleaming bright
In translucent oven light,
What perspiring hand or eye
Hath baked thy tasty symmetry

  1. Today I will put to test
Which frosting I like the best
On two perfect little cups of cake
For them my love I cannot fake
    Frosting is the shimmering halo
on its heavenly angel down below

  2. Your cupcakes are outstanding to taste
On other things I will not waste
my time and my money for things made of honey
so I savor your treats not in haste.

  3. Cupcake, sweet cupcake!
    Pink frosting piled high, mmm
    Chocolate sprinkles.
